Chillidog

I get this nostalgic feeling of the days my Amma (mom) used to pack delicious hotdogs into my school lunch box. When it was time for lunch break, I used to rush to the back of my classroom and enjoy the hotdogs all by myself. I know, pretty selfish of me but it was too yummy to share.

I managed to replicate that very same recipe of my mother's hotdogs and I call it - Chillidog!
I do make these quite often as it is easy to make and I am very fond of it. I used salad leaves in this recipe to my taste, but you could omit it and make just the chillidog and the chilli-onion relish instead.

Filling for 2 hotdogs:
1 large onion - chopped slices
2 table spoon Hot& Sweet chilli sauce (Maggie's Hot& Sweet chilli Sauce)
1/4 tsp chilli powder (or hot chilli sauce)
1/2 tsp garlic paste
salt to taste
Hotdog bread
Set of six medium sized sausages (frankfurter sausages/keels hotdog sausages)
Salad leaves for garnish (optional)

To Make:
- Grill or stir fry the Sausages and leave aside.
- In a hot pan, add oil and stir fry onions.
- Add garlic paste, chilli powder(or hot chilli sauce), salt to taste.
- Add the hot and sweet-chilli sauce.
- Stir until the onions are semi-transparent.
- Cut the hotdog bread through the center.
- Place the salad leaves in the bread.
- Spread some of the chilli onion relish over it.
- Place the sausage in the bread and then top it with some more chilli onion relish again.
- Serve on plate

This is a great snack to enjoy your friends and family :)!
